What Does Ventolin Treat?

In order to prevent bronchospasms in patients suffering from reversible obstructive airway diseases is usually used Ventolin. This medication can be also applied to avoid exercise-induced bronchospasm diseases.

How to Take Ventolin?

Use Ventolin after consulting your doctor and strictly according to his/her dosage prescriptions and rules. Never take double doses or take medications in larger amount because overdose can be fatal (!). Usage of Ventolin as an inhaler:

Using the inhaler for the first time you need to prime it with testing 4 sprays into the air, far away for your face. You need to shake an inhaler before priming testing. An inhaler will require priming if you have not used it for more than 2 weeks or if you accidentally dropped the inhaler. You need to shake the Ventolin inhaler every time you spray. Put the inhaler into your mouth, breathe out, close your lips and breathe in very slowly while spraying down the Venolin canister. Then you have to hold a breath about 10 sec, and only then breathe out gently. If you need to spray more than once at a time, you will have to wait for one minute and repeat the procedure. Do not forget to shake an inhaler before spraying for the second time.

Usage of Ventolin as a nebulizer:
Take the required amount of capsules or necessary dose measured by a special dropper only after strict instructions provided by your doctor. Then you need to put the required amount of liquid into the special chamber of the Ventolin nebulizer. Then you need to close your mouth or face mask directly to this chamber. And only then you have to attach the medication chamber to the compressor. Put the mouthpiece into the mouth (you may cover your nose with face mask) and then breath very gently and even till you will inhale all dose of medication (which may take from 5 till 15 minutes). The dose is over at once when the chamber is completely empty.

If you use an inhaler you have to keep it at your fingertips all the time. Never store Ventolin near open fire or in your car during hot days and never throw the open empty or full canister to the flame.

If you overdose and experience difficulties in breathing or nausea along with fatigue immediately call an ambulance.

Ventolin Side Effects and Precautions

Do not allow interaction of Ventolin with eyes. If this medicine gets in your eyes, immediately rinse your eyes with huge amount of water and appeal to a doctor. After your prescription is out immediately renovate it or better do it beforehand, because you need to take this medicine without breaks.

Never take Ventolin if you have an allergic reaction to albuterol. Before taking Ventolin tell your doctor if you suffer from: any heart diseases, high blood pressure levels congestive heart failures; epilepsy; heart rhythm disorders; diabetes and overactive thyroid.
