Generic name: Clobetasol Propionate.

Also known as: Cormax, Dermovate, Olux, Tenovate, Temovate.

Active ingredient: Clobetasol Propionate.

What Does Temovate Cream Treat?

Temovate Cram is applied to treat inflammation and skin itching provoked by such skin conditions as eczema, psoriasis and similar skin discharges. In some cases it can be applied to treat the diaper rash in infants.

How to Apply Temovate Cream?

The dosage of Temovate Cream should be assigned by a doctor according to your skin conditions.

Before applying the amount of Temovate Cream to a treated skin area, wash your hands thoroughly unless you need to use this medication to your hands’ skin.

After appliance of small amount to the treated zone gently start rubbing the preparation into the skin. It is not recommended to use this medicine to a large skin area.

When you have finished rubbing the cream to the affected area you need to make sure your clothes won’t cover this area like a bandage. In a case you are applying Temovate Cream for treating diaper rash in babies do not cover the treated area with tight diapers or plastic pants.

Side Effects and Precautions of Temovate Cream

In order to prevent increasing of Temovate Cream’s side effects you must discuss with your doctor your medical history of conditions especially if it includes: allergy to any medications or food products, any skin infection, diabetes since topical steroids can increase level of sugar in blood or urine.

Be careful when using Temovate Cream and do not let it come into your eyes, mouth, nose, underarms or groin area. Rinse with water if the medication was applied by mistake to these zones. Do not apply the medication into the broken skin or open wounds in treated skin areas.

While being pregnant and breast-feeding do not use Temovate Cream (classified by FDA pregnancy as C). This medication as all topical steroids can bring harm to a nursing baby or fetus.

Do not share the preparation with underage children because kids are more inclined to absorbing topical steroids through skin.

Be careful with dosing of Temovate Cream because overdose reactions can be revealed in the following way: thinning skin, easy bleeding or bruising, acne, increased growth of facial hair, certain menstrual problems, impotence in males and low libido in women.

Immediately cease applying Temovate Cream if you notice the following adverse reactions revealed after appliance of this medication:
• Eye problems like blurriness or temporary vision loss;
• Changes in behavior and mood;
• Insomnia and similar sleep disorders;

• Skin rash;
• Skin redness or itching;
• Dry skin;
• Hair loss;
• Changes in skin coloring;
• Stretch marks in skin areas.

Temovate Cream is able to cause other side effects which are less serious but still can be unpleasant.

Interaction of Temovate Cream with Other Drugs

Do not start using Temovate Cream if you have an allergy to its active ingredient – clobetasol.

Before starting to take or use any other medication during appliance of Temovate Cream, you need at first to consult a doctor. Especially if you are going to have injections or take any topical steroids containing clobetasol.

Be careful when using Temovate Cream because it can be easily absorbed through the skin. This may trigger a row of unpleasant side effects.
