What Does Zyban Treat?

How to Take Zyban?

Usually average dose (which should be conformed to your doctor) for an adult is: 150 mg of drug, orally, once per day. This dose can be increased up to 300 mg per day, or a doctor can prescribe to take 150 mg orally twice per day. The increasing of dose should be prescribed not earlier than after 3 days of starting taking Zyban. You have to be 14 years and older to take Zyban.

Your doctor may prescribe to take along with Zyban other supportive medicines, like anti-nicotine gums or patches to increase the effect provided by Zyban as anti-nicotine drug.

Consult your doctor before starting taking Zyban and never take a missed dose twice. Keep in mind that overdose of this medicine can bring to severe consequences, or can even be fatal (!) for a patient.

Never take Zyban if you are already taking (at least during last 14 days): furazolidone (Furoxone), Marplan, phenelzine, Azilect, Eldepryl, Parnate, medications applied for preventing blood clots like Plavix, cancer medicines like cyclophosphamide or thiotepa; heart or blood pressure medications like Tenormin, HIV or AIDS medications like Norvir or Kaletra; any other anti-depressant drugs; antihistamines making a patient sleepy; asthma drugs and bronchodilators; birth control medications or/and any hormone replacement estrogens; urinary drugs like Urotrol; diet pills; insulin or diabetes drugs you take orally; anti-malaria drugs; medicines for treating Parkinson's disease or drugs applied for preventing organ transplant rejection. This list is not complete, appeal to a doctor to specify your permission for taking Zyban.

Peculiarities and Recommendations Concerning Zyban

If you start taking Zyban prepare to the fact you may continue smoking about one week. You should expect from drug providing its healing effect only after 2 weeks of taking.
